Hub Gap-Finder & Sync

Compare your skill library against everything in the AI for Impact Hub, find the skills worth adding, and sync the newer Hub versions into the ones you already have, without losing your customisations.

Download the skill See a sample report
Runs on your machine, in your own Claude. It reads only the folder you point it at, and fetches the public Hub catalogue to compare against. Nothing is uploaded to us, and it never overwrites your work. Every add or sync is shown first, backed up, and needs your yes.

How it works

1

Install and ask

Download the file and drop it into your skills folder, or save it from Cowork. Then say "compare my skills to the Hub". Setup for every tool is below.

2

It reads and sorts

It reads your library, fetches the current Hub catalogue, and sorts everything into four buckets: up to date, update available, gap, and your own.

3

Add or sync on your yes

You get a report, then it adds or syncs only what you approve, one file at a time, with a backup made before it touches anything.

What it finds

Everything in your library, sorted into four clear buckets so you can see exactly where you stand against the Hub.

Gaps to add

Hub skills you do not have yet

Skills in the Hub catalogue that fit your goals but are missing from your library. Each one comes with a short note on why it might help, so you can decide what is worth adding.

Updates to sync

Newer Hub versions of skills you own

Where the Hub has moved a skill forward, it merges the improvement into your version and keeps your customisations. You see the exact change before anything is applied.

Up to date

What needs nothing

Skills that already match the current Hub version. No action, no noise. It tells you they are current and moves on, so your attention stays on what matters.

Your own skills

Your custom work, kept as-is

Skills you built yourself that do not come from the Hub. These are recognised as your own and left untouched, never flagged as a gap or a thing to fix.

Set it up in five minutes

Pick the path that matches where you work. You only need the skill and Python, which almost every Claude environment already has.

Claude Code

  1. Unzip the skill into ~/.claude/skills/hub-gap-finder (or your project's .claude/skills/).
  2. Start a session in that folder.
  3. Say "compare my skills to the Hub" and point it at your skills folder.

Claude desktop / Cowork

  1. Open the .skill file and click Save skill to install.
  2. In a new chat, say "compare my skills to the Hub".
  3. Tell it where your skills folder is. It builds the report as a file you open in your browser.

No Claude, just the report

  1. Unzip the skill. You need Python 3.8 or newer.
  2. Run python3 scripts/compare_to_hub.py <your_skills_folder>
  3. Then python3 scripts/build_report.py hub_gap_data.json and open the HTML.

The one rule that makes it safe

It never overwrites or deletes your work. Syncing merges the Hub improvement in and keeps your customisations, so nothing you wrote is lost. Every change is shown first, backed up, and applied only on your yes. You decide, and you own every file.
